DECEMBER 15
TOPIC: THE LAW OF "EXCEPTION”
Memory verse:-"But he refused. "With me in charge,” he told her, "my master does not concern himself
with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is
greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you,
because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against
God?” And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her
or even be with her. One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of
the household servants was inside. She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed
with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.”
There is exception to almost all rules and that also applies to our Christian life. we have privilege to do certain things yet we need not to do because it will profit us nothing. The first couple of creation, Adam and Eve, were privileged to eat the evil fruit and because they did not recognize this law of exception they ate it and were punished.
This Scripture shows us Joseph who had the privilege to enjoy the game of Potiphar’s wife yet he realized that she was exceptional to his role in the house. Most people are in a mess and retrogressing in their precious lives because they think every privilege must be enjoyed to the fullness. Life does not move on the wings of every privilege, thus there are some privileges that come to destroy and there are some that come to build us.
Prayer:-pray for vigilance and soberness
pray for good heart toward people
What to meditate on:
What are the "things of exception” or avoidable privileges in your life?
