TOPIC: WHEN WILL THIS GROANING STOP?
Memory verse:-"Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For
three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah,
they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called
Marah.) So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?” Then
Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw
it into the water, and the water became sweet.
There the Lord made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. He said,
"If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his
eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on
you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals
you.” Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees,
and they camped there near the water.”
Despite the miracles exhibited before the Israelites and the redeeming power that prevailed at the red sea still the Israelites were groaning. Their insatiability was at its peak as if they have not witness the existence and supremacy of the Jehovah God.
This happens to us the Lord has done things far greater than what we may be facing now yet we fail to rely on His strength. We groan as if all is lost and there is no hope but is anything too hard for the Lord? If God has brought back a dead person back to life why can’t He heal your sickness or disease? If God has fed thousands of people on a desert why can’t He feed you today? Believe and rely on the Lord that you serve.
Prayer:-pray for forgiveness incase you have uttered unwholesome words against the Lord
pray that the Lord would help you to follow all His command and decrees
What to meditate on:
Will there be end to problems of life on this earth and how can we live with it as Christians?
