TOPIC: IS THE LORD AMONG US OR NOT?
Memory verse:-"The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to
place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water
for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to
drink.” Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to
the test?”
But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They
said, "Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and
livestock die of thirst?” Then Moses cried out to the Lord, "What am I to do with
these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” The Lord answered Moses,
"Walk on ahead of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in
your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile , and go. I will stand there before
you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people
to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel . And he called the place
Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the
Lord saying, "Is the Lord among us or not?”
It seems the Israelites in their problems could not ask (pray to) God for anything but to grumble against God and His prophet Moses. We need to note that our God is for all and listens to us all. Whenever we have a problem we have to speak to God in prayer rather than grumbling and moving from one church to the other. It does not mean that we do not have to share our problems with God’s pastors given to us and ask them to help us in prayer, no! But it means that inasmuch as God hears us all we have to pray along with the pastors.
No matter all that God did against the Egyptians and for the Israelites they were not convinced that God was with them. God has been with His own since the creation of the world when we go through bad times it does not mean the Lord has left us. All things work for the good of us who trust in God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever will remain the same. God is with you!
Prayer:-thank God that He is still with you
pray and present your needs or request to God in faith
Seal all your prayer with the blood of Jesus
What to meditate on:
How does God provide for us?
