                                                            TOPIC: GOD’S PROTECTION IN 2013

Memory verse:-"So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built
Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. But the more they were oppressed, the
more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites and
worked them ruthlessly. They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar
and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them
ruthlessly. The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were
Shiphrah and Puah, "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them
on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” The midwives,
however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they
let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them,
"Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”

The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they
are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.” So God was kind to the
midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because
the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Then Pharaoh gave this
order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let
                      every girl live.”
                                                                                                                             -Exod. 1:11-22
The new king intended to make the Israelites suffer and bitter so that they would not multiple and prosper. Obviously, all that this king was concerned about was his kingdom.
The same applies today so many people do not care about the kindness done to them once royalty or political power is involved. They will do everything to secure this power.

Probably, the Israelites would have introduced their (faith in) God to some of the Egyptians as such Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah were said to have feared God. If that was very true then Shiphrah and Puah attitude was a reward to the seed of faith that they planted. It could also be that, these midwives would have heard of the supremacy of the God of the Israelites and feared Him.

Whatever it was, the picture is clear that God protected His own from the hands of their enemies. No matter the political problems and the plans of your enemies for your life once you are carrying the blessings of God He will protect you this year.

Prayer:-pray for God’s protection for you and your family this year
pray against any suffering and bitterness the enemy has planned for your future and your business

What to meditate on:
How does God protect us?
