JANUARY 21

                                                       TOPIC: MENDING OUR BAD ATTITUDES

Memory verse:-"When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned
so early today?” They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He
even drew water for us and watered the flock.” "And where is he?” he asked his
daughters. "Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat.” Moses
agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.
Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become
an alien in a foreign land.”

During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery
and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God
heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and
with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.”
                                                                                                                            -Exod. 2:18-25

We see one positive attitude and presumably one negative attitude of the seven daughters of Jethro (the priest of Midian). The positive one was that they did not invite Moses home despite his kindness without the consent of their father. I believe it would have been a different story today; the youths of today seem to do many things with no regard to the elders’ advice and consent. We seem to know much but do little.

The negative attitude was that they did not "say thank” you. Well, they may have said it but since the Bible passage did not mention it I presumed that they did not do it. However it was to their discredit. We have to learn to say thank you to all those who do you good. Sometimes we do not pay attention to whom and what we should show our appreciation. Every good service demands our appreciation. For instance, when you pick a taxi it is true that you are going to pay for it but it is also good to say thank you to the driver because he has render you a great service. The money you will pay cannot measure up to your-life that the driver cared about in rendering his service.

Prayer:-pray for God fearing for the Children around the globe
pray for good attitude for all the Youths today and for all civil servants around the globe

What to meditate:
If a person has a bad attitude can he know it and how can he change that?
