TOPIC: SEEK THE WELFARE OF OTHERS
Memory verse:-"Then Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, "I will go up and speak
to Pharaoh and will say to him, ‘My brothers and my father’s household, who were
living in the land of Canaan, have come to me. The men are shepherds; they tend
livestock, and they have brought along their flocks and herds and everything they own.’
When Pharaoh calls you in and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’ you should answer,
‘Your servants have tended livestock from our boyhood on, just as our fathers did.’
Then you will be allowed to settle in the region of Goshen , for all shepherds are
detestable to the Egyptians.”
What Joseph did according to the scripture above is a form of intercessory. We need to intercede for others for their welfare. That is not just being human but our duty as Christians, interceding for those in authority; the universal church and unbelievers; children and many more make God also do for us our desires.
It is also important to note that despite him going to intercede he planned with the people on behalf of which he was going to intercede. Most of the time we think prayer is all that we should do, we pray and work (plan) toward the things we say in our prayer. Example, we do not pray for knowledge without learning, or we do not pray for money without working.
Prayer:-being led by the Spirit of God intercede for people at your heart
pray for the universal church-all Christians
What to meditate on:
How best are you planning toward your prayer requests?
