TOPIC: THE GIFT OF GOD

Memory verse:-"God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son. Then Leah

said, "God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband.” So she

named him Issachar.

Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son. Then Leah said, "God has presented

me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have

borne him six sons.” So she named him Zebulun. Some time later she gave birth to a

daughter and named her Dinah.

Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb. She became

pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, "God has taken away my disgrace.” She

named him Joseph, and said, "May the Lord add to me another son.”

-Gen. 30:17-24

Though being pregnant and delivering babies are natural I always see them as miracles. Because it is not everybody who engages in sex (natural act) that takes seed, some marriage couples have gone through hell yet they are still barren. So it takes the grace of God and His supernatural power for a person to take seed. It is not by one’s potential or might that makes him or her produce. Thus children are gifts from God; this is in line with the previous lesson on ‘children are gift from God’. You could reflect on that.

Prayer:-pray again for marriage couples who are in need of children

pray against death of babies during labor and also for all pregnant women

What to meditate on:

Can it happen that a Christian will never have a child in his lifetime? Why it happen like that what should the one do?
