NOVEMBER 23

                                                        TOPIC: WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?

Memory verse:-"Laban also said to Jacob, "Here is this heap, and here is this pillar I have set up
between you and me. This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not go
past this heap to your side to harm you and that you will not go past this heap and pillar
to my side to harm me. May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of
                     their father, judge between us.”

So Jacob took an oath in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac. He offered a sacrifice
there in the hill country and invited his relatives to a meal. After they had eaten, they
spent the night there. Early the next morning Laban kissed his grandchildren and his
daughters and blessed them. Then he left and returned home.”
                                                                                                                               -Gen.31:51-55

Note the words of Laban very well, he made covenant not in the name of his gods but in the name of the God of Abraham. Laban the idol worshipper and Jacob the believer of the God of his fathers all used the name of one God, then what makes the difference?

This is one of the controversial and confusing issues in every generation. We all seem to love, believe and cherish the name of God but our attitudes are not in the same line of what His name says. It is not shouting the God, nor writing the name on one’s dress nor making covenant in the name that makes the difference. But rather doing what the name says and it says "be holy because I am holy”.

Prayer:-pray for holy life and give so much thank to God for your life and your country

What to meditate on:
Born into Christianity and being a Christian are they the same, if ‘yes’ or ‘no’ explain your answer?
