TOPIC: WEAPONS OF VICTORY
Memory verse:-"Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided
the children among Leah, Rachel and the two maidservants. He put the maidservants
and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the
rear. He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he
approached his brother.
But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and
kissed him. And they wept. Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children.
"Who are these with you?” he asked. Jacob answered, "They are the children God has
graciously given your servant.” Then the maidservants and their children approached
and bowed down. Next, Leah and her children came and bowed down. Last of all
came Joseph and Rachel, and they too bowed down.”
Every battle is of life and death, if one does not survive he dies. Jacob was battling himself and his entire family and even his properties. The weapons he used on Esau are still relevant in this Christian battle.
As Christians there are two great weapons of victory for us, it is always difficult for them to fail at any battlefield when they are used in the right way. They are: humility and prayer, prayer gives us the privilege to communicate to God and also makes Him arise and come to our aid in times of trouble. Remember that the weapons we need in this Christian life and battle is not canal (physical) so when we pray God act on our behalf. In the same way humility opens way for more grace and compassion of God to abound unto us. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble, with humility Jacob prevailed he supposed to have been killed by Esau but these weapons of humility and prayer broke the harden heart of Esau.
Prayer:-pray for humility and strength to be prayer
pray against any plans of the devil concerning your household
What to mediate on:
Was Jacob coward and what does it mean to be coward?
