                                                                TOPIC: BE GRATEFUL TO GOD

Memory verse:-Esau said, "Then let me leave some of my men with you.” "But why do that?” Jacob
asked. "Just let me find favor in the eyes of my lord.” So that day Esau started on his
way back to Seir. Jacob, however, went to Succoth, where he built a place for himself
and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place is called Succoth.

After Jacob came from Paddan Aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan
and camped within sight of the city. For a hundred pieces of silver, he bought from the
sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, the plot of ground where he pitched his tent.
There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.
                                                                                                                               -Gen. 33:15-20

We see from the above scripture that Jacob was grateful to God so he built an altar and called it El Elohe Israel meaning the God of Israel or mighty is the God of Israel. Most of the time we become forgetful of the kindness that God has shown us and that makes us ungrateful. Whatever that we have done or wherever that we are we should know that it is by the grace of God that has made it possible. God alone deserve our praise, though Jacob wrestled with the Lord and got injured, he gave out gift but that never made him take the credit to himself. It was God who gave him the wisdom to do all that he did to Him alone man must praise and adore.

Ungratefulness is bad because it can bring you into trouble but being grateful always paves way for new things and better things to happen. Be grateful especially to God.

Prayer:-thank God for all His goodness and kindness toward you and your household and country
pray for fresh anointing (strength) into your body and for your Christian life

What to meditate on:
How best can you be grateful to God?
