OCTOBER 20

                                                                       TOPIC: A COVENANT SON

Memory verse:-"Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah. She bore him Zimran, Jokshan,
Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah. Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan; the
descendants of Dedan were the Asshurites, the Letushites and the Leummites. The sons
of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. All these were descendants
                     of Keturah.

Abraham left everything he owned to Isaac. But while he was still living, he gave gifts to
the sons of his concubines and sent them away from his son Isaac to the land of the
east. Altogether, Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years. Then Abraham
breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was
gathered to his people. His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah
near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, the field Abraham had
bought from the Hittites. There Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah. After
Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.”
                                                                                                                                -Gen. 25:1-17

It is seen from the life of Isaac that it is not by strength or academic intelligence that a person truly prevails or wins, but by covenant he/she have with his/her maker. Covenant is very power to elevate or limit a person. Because Isaac was a son of covenant his life was a testimony and worthy to make generational history. In the same way we Christians are children of covenant, a covenant established on better promises.

Christians have to proud of who we are; we do not get our strength only from daily food or drink or some special medicine but by Divine. God does not break his covenant, he watch over his covenant and promises to perform. Never give up, if you are a true child of covenant, because you are in the thought of the Lord your God and he has not forgotten you.

Prayer:-pray for all the blessing in the covenant you have with the Lord
pray for courage in all things

What to meditate on:
What is a covenant and how do you know that you have a covenant with the Lord?
