SEPTEMBER 13

                                                                 TOPIC: ABRAM’S GOOD EXAMPLE

Memory verse:-"So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and
Lot went with him. Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.
From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place
between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier and where he had first built an
altar. There Abram called on the name of the Lord. Now Lot, who was moving about
with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. But the land could not support them
while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able
                    to stay together.”
                                                                                                                                 -Gen. 13:1-6

Abraham, though he was wealthy, did not impose his authority upon Lot, he gave him the freedom to follow his own interest and Lot made wealth for himself too, with which Abraham made no sign of envy because he knew that God was his portion and greater than material wealth. This is different from the larger picture we see today; most well-to-do in society have the tendency of imposing their authority on poor people around them. They take so much interest and pride in being on top of others and anyone who tries to be making it like them in wealth becomes their first enemy. Abram’s example of faith in God and cordial relationship with his fellow men were good for us to emulate.

Prayer:-pray for an exemplary life
-pray against being led by material wealth and not God

What to meditate on:
Can wealth takes the position of mankind in society?
