TOPIC: THE LORD KNOWS BEST
Memory verse:-"Then the word of the Lord came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son
coming from your own body will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, "Look
up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to
him, "So shall your offspring be.”
Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. He also said to
him, "I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land
to take possession of it.” But Abram said, "O Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I
will gain possession of it?” So the Lord said to him, "Bring me a heifer, a goat and a
ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.” Abram brought all
these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds,
however, he did not cut in half. Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but
Abram drove them away.”
Inasmuch as God looks into the heart of humanity but we humans looks at the outward appearances it is difficulty to know and understand the plans and the ways of God. There are so many things that are hidden from us but God knows it all. Abram was a believer of God yet he was confused as to how he could take possession of the land promised by God. Then he asked for a sign by which he could be certain that God’s promised would be fulfilled.
Abram like us, we always look for a sign in order to be sure of God’s promises to us, but the entire creation of God, most especially we humans, attest to the fact that God’s sovereignty and providence are far greater than his promises. As such he can not lie about his promises. He can do more than what he promises us. Look at yourself, you are the most complex creature that no architect can make, and the most complex machine than no scientist can comprehend. It is only God the creator who has full control of his creatures. Whatever God has promise and said about you is certain and in its time it will come to pass.
Prayer:-pray for taking possession of your promises in the bible
-pray against the devils plans against your promises
What to meditate on:
What has God said about you and you are truly ready for that?
